There were promises early in the week of nice weather for our first paddle of the season, but as the week wore on, the forecast look gloomy. I stopped by the launch at 1 on Sunday. There was a SWIFT current. The temperature was 34 degrees, 25 with wind chill. That cool east wind was 14-20 mph with wind gusts of 32 predicted. Skycover 100%, humidity 92 %, … - lousy kayaking weather. Canceling the paddle was the smart decision. Maybe we will see temps in 60s next week. Also, our favorite restaurant was locked up tight and for sale. Let’s hope Pirates Landing gets sold quickly to another restaurateur. It was the perfect place for us to refresh.
