Trip Canceled
Seneca Falls (2019)

Sunday,  2019 (Launch Time 12:00 Noon)

Canceled due to toxic blue green algae.  The lock is now closed for 2019, so it cannot be rescheduled.

We will launch from the Seneca Falls Community Recreation Center and paddle east along the Cayuga-Seneca Canal into Lake Van Cleef, where kayakers will travel through Locks 2 and 3.   We can takeout and rest at the new Lock 1 fishing access on Cayuga Lake, where you will have a great view of one of Montezuma Wildlife Center's eagle nests.  Total paddle approx 10.8 miles. Please be sure that you are properly dressed for the paddle and have all appropriate equipment.

Note: We typically stop half way through the paddle for a break.  Feel free to bring something to snack on.  Also, be sure to note the weather conditions by clicking the "Local Weather Forecast" button, and check the website for last minute changes or cancellations.

Directions from Syracuse:  Go to Seneca Falls via thruway or route 5&20 or a combination.  Turn onto S Walnut St by the Byrne Dairy in Seneca Falls on Route 5&20. (Byrne Dairy is on the water side of the street.  The Women's Rights National Park Visitor Center and a pizza place are across the street.)   Go to the parking lot on the right side of the Recreation Center.  There is a gate separating the lot from the water, but we were told it is never locked.
