Sunday, August 12, 2018 (Launch Time 1:00 PM)
This is not a trip for beginners since there can be some chop on the lake if it is breezy. We will meet at 1:00 PM at Chimney Bluffs State Park entrance and then proceed to the launch site. Be sure to bring your spray skirt along with lunch or snacks. Please be sure that you are properly dressed for the paddle and have all appropriate equipment. You may also want to bring hiking shoes if you wish to climb the bluffs.
Note: We typically stop half way through the paddle for a break. Feel free to bring something to snack on. Also, be sure to note the weather conditions by clicking the "Local Weather Forecast" button, and check the website for last minute changes or cancellations.
Directions: Take Route 690 N. from Syracuse to Route 370 in Baldwinsville. Proceed west on Route 370 to Route 104. Turn left onto Route 104 and proceed west approximately 9.0 miles to the intersection with Lake Bluff Road (on the left side of this intersection, it is Route 414). Turn right onto Lake Bluff Road. Proceed north on Lake Bluff Road for approximately 3.4 miles. At that point, Lake Bluff Road will make a 90 degree turn to the left. Do not go left here, but continue straight. This road will now becomes Garner Road. Watch for the State Park signs. Follow Garner Road to the Chimney Bluffs State Park entrance on the left.
