Kayuta Lake

Sue, Karin, Kim, Hugh, Mark, Amir, Ray, Bob, Dave L. and Bill E enjoyed an unusually warm, sunny autumn day on Kayuta Lake. With temps near 70, the typical Kayuta Lake garb of winter hats and jackets were left at home or in the car. The forest was filled with the color of the day – red. Dave arrived early to cast a line and hope a fish would bite. Ray, Bob and Hugh came early to get in some extra miles. Last year we noted that the boats had vanished into their winter storage. This year a lot of party boats were still attached to their docks and hoists, and at least 5 passed by us on the water. Some even politely slowed down (ok, maybe one!!) We stopped at the mini beach after viewing the rocks at the low water end of the river. The wind was not bad on the way back and even helped us along near the launch.

The Buffalo Head is still closed, so we picked a new spot: Wayne and Elaine’s Alder Creek Inn. It is just a hop, skip and a jump across the highway. Thanks Bob, for the recommendation. The patio seating was perfect and the food was delicious. They had gooood chicken and biscuits, too.
