Jack's Reef to Cross Lake
Sunday, October 22, 2017
Launch Time 12:00 PM

Baldwinsville, NY

This is a nice leisurely paddle on the Seneca River out onto Cross Lake. It is a good novice paddle, unless it's windy on Cross Lake which can cause some waves or chop. A spray skirt would be helpful. Please be sure that you are properly dressed for the paddle and have all appropriate equipment. There is an island in the middle of the lake that just begs a stop for snacks (This depends on the water level). The paddle is approximately 7 miles.

The paddle will begin at the Jack's Reef Port O Call Restaurant launch ramp. The restaurant is currently under renovation. We can move cars across the street from the restaurant after unloading.

Directions From Syracuse: From Syracuse, take 690 west past the fairgrounds toward B'ville. Take the Jones Road exit. At the bottom of the ramp, turn left. Go straight on Jones Road, it turns into Brickyard Rd. and ends at Route 173. Turn right on Route 173. Keep going straight through Warners and stay on Route 173, which ends at Route 31. Cross Route 31 and go straight. About 2 miles after you cross Route 31, you'll turn right on Plainville Rd. and right again into the Jack's Reef parking lot.

Please Note: Directions for each trip are provided to help people unfamiliar with the area to find the location of the trip. They are not meant to necessarily be the most direct route from your own location.
