||Jack's Reef to Cross Lake

|This is a nice
leisurely paddle of approximately 7 miles on the
Seneca River out onto Cross Lake. This is a good
novice paddle, unless it is windy on Cross Lake,
which can cause some waves or chop. A spray skirt
would be helpful. There is an island in the middle
of the lake that just begs a stop for snacks. (This
depends on the water level). The paddle will
begin at the former Jack's Reef Port-O-Call. We will
unload then park cars across the street from the
Directions From Syracuse: From Syracuse, take
690 west past the fairgrounds toward Baldwinsville.
Take the Jones Road exit. At the bottom of the ramp,
turn left. Go straight on Jones Road, it turns into
Brickyard Rd. and ends at Route 173. Turn right on
Route 173. Keep going straight through Warners and
stay on Route 173, which ends at Route 31. Cross
Route 31 and go straight. About 2 miles after you
cross Route 31, you'll turn right on Plainville Rd.
and right again into the restaurant parking lot.
