  Meeting Time 9:00 AM

Camillus, NY

Depending upon the water level, the section we're paddling this week includes some swift water, a short section of rapids (which can be portaged), an aqueduct, a small dam and other interesting features. This is a good trip for advanced novices and up. We will meet at 9:00 AM at the Nine Mile Creek Canoe Launch in Camillus.  Since this is a one-way trip, we will need to shuttle cars.  Launch time will be 10:00 AM.   Please be sure that you are properly dressed for the paddle and have all appropriate equipment.

Directions from Syracuse and the East: Take Rt. 690 west to Rt. 695 which is near the State Fairgrounds. Follow Rt. 695 as if your were going to Auburn (Rt 5. West) and take the Camillus exit. At the bottom of the exit ramp, turn left on Newport Road. There is a sign there with an arrow that says "Nine Mile Creek Canoe Launch". Follow Newport Road across the bridge and take your first left which is First Street. Take the next left which passes between the old school building and the tennis court. The launch is located at the end of this short road. GPS coordinates of the launch are:

Directions from the West: Take Rt. 5 east through the village of Elbridge. Follow Rt. 5 until it becomes Rt. 174 which goes into Camillus. Rt. 174 makes a right turn in Camillus. Do not take this turn. Instead, go straight into Camillus and turn left at the traffic light in Camillus. The Camillus Kayak Shop will be on your left at this intersection. Take your next right which is First Street. Take the next left which passes between the old school building and the tennis court. The launch is located at the end of this short road.

Please Note: Directions for each trip are provided to help people unfamiliar with the area to find the location of the trip. They are not meant to necessarily be the most direct route from your own location.
