Oneida Shores is an Onondaga County Park located on the southern shore of Oneida Lake.  Paddlers should be advised that the paddle is located where boat traffic may be heavy. Also, since there is a large amount of open water, weather conditions should be reviewed prior to participating if your paddling experience in heavier water or wind conditions is limited. If it is windy, we will paddle along the shore and into the bays. Be sure to bring your spray skirt. We will launch from the boat launch at the park at noon.  There may not be a fee because it is pre-Memorial Day.  We are thinking of going through the lock instead of around the Island.  Also, be sure that you are properly dressed for the paddle and have all appropriate equipment.

Directions from Syracuse: From Syracuse, take Route 81 north and get off at the Brewerton exit. At the end of the exit ramp, turn left onto Bartell Road and proceed approximately .8 miles to the park entrance.

Please Note: Directions for each trip are provided to help people unfamiliar with the area to find the location of the trip. They are not meant to necessarily be the most direct route from your own location.
