Oneida Shores
Date: Sunday, June 10, 2012
Time: 1:00 PM

Oneida Shores is an Onondaga County Park located on the southern shore of Oneida Lake. We will meet at 1:00 PM in the beach parking area at Oneida Shores County Park. There is a fee for entering the park. We will be launching from the beach area and paddling out onto the lake and around Frenchman Island. Paddlers should be advised that the paddle is located where boat traffic may be heavy. Also, since there is a large amount of open water, weather conditions should be reviewed prior to participating if your paddling experience in heavier water or wind conditions is limited. If it is windy, we will paddle along the shore and into the bays. Be sure to bring your spray skirt. Also, be sure that you are properly dressed for the paddle and have all appropriate equipment. If you have wheels for your boat, bring them. The water is about 100 yards from the parking area. If you don't have wheels, we will help you with your boat.

Directions from Syracuse: From Syracuse, take Route 81 north and get off at the Brewerton exit. At the end of the exit ramp, turn left onto Bartell Road and proceed approximately .8 miles to the park entrance. There is an admissions fee to enter the park.

Please Note: Directions for each trip are provided to help people unfamiliar with the area to find the location of the trip. They are not meant to necessarily be the most direct route from your own location.
