CNY Kayakers - Syracuse New York

Another Sunday afternoon of wonderful August weather for gathering kayakers on the Seneca River at Baldwinsville was enjoyed by a big group, welcoming some newcomers who had not been through a lock before, including and a very gung-ho fellow from the neighborhood with a new kayak, a couple in a tandem yak, and a four-some family in their rec boats.  On the west end of the lock a group went off to the west to extend their mileage for the afternoon of paddling enjoyment including Robert Nessel, who had made a fine finish participating in the famous Great Race in Auburn that morning.  The group who turned around at the Route 690 bridge went back through the lock leisurely, consistent with a "dog-day" August afternoon.  Needless today, nothing spectacular or bad transpired and a fine time was had.
